7. Why have you chosen the charities that you did?

The charities that have been chosen are based upon research and personal experience. KnowNoLimits123 supports charities that are not merely 'pass-through' organizations, but ones that have a direct impact for the recipient/end-user. In this way, Nick can assure that his "treasure" is making an immediate impact, and not getting lost in the shuffle of a 'generic' donation. Back to top

8. How many paintings a year do you do?

That all depends. Any artist; whether it be a writer, musician, photographer, etc; understands that creative inspiration comes in fits and spurts. To put a 'quota' on doing x number of paintings in a given time-frame would also take the fun out of it, as well as compromise the finished piece. Back to top

9. Does Nick have any "formal" artistic training?

All of Nick's work has been developed through trial and error, and the learn-as-you-go approach. Afterall, the journey of learning is never-ending, and Nick learns something new each time he picks up a brush. However, he would eventually like to enroll in a class, because there's a lot of talented artists out there, and one can never learn enough. Back to top

10. Does Nick try to reproduce what he see's in a photograph, i.e. photorealism?

It's nearly impossible to re-create a photo in a painting. Nick does use photo's to generate ideas, and will often pull different aspects out of various photo's to create his own feeling. Even then, once the paint starts sticking to the canvas, who knows where he'll go with it. The freedom of doing what feels good at the moment always supercedes the initial rough concept. Oftentimes, the finished artwork looks nothing like what he had envisioned prior to beginning...yet he's happy nonetheless. Back to top
